Here is a scenario that many of the Logitech and Microsoft wireless and USB keyboard users are experiencing with their keyboards under Windows 8 and 10: The keyboard is working just fine but then the keypad suddenly stopped working. You try to connect another keyboard of the same model, either USB or wireless, and the keyboard is working fine including the keypad. However, after some time, the keypad suddenly stopped working as well. Then the user wonders if the problem is a defective keypad, or if the whole keyboard is defective and needs to be replaced.
SOLUTION:
The problem here is NOT the keyboard. In fact, you can use the keyboard in your other computers without the problem especially for computers with older versions of Windows. If this happens in your Windows 8/8.1 or Windows 10, please follow the procedures described below to fix the keypad issues.
NOTE: The screen shots provided in the procedures are from a Windows 10 computer.
Step 1:
Open your Control Panel.
Step 2:
Open Ease of Access Center
Step 3:
In the dialog box that opens, under “Explore all settings“, click the option “Make the mouse easier to use“.
Step 4:
Scroll down to the bottom part, under “Control the mouse with the keyboard” section, UNCHECK the option “Turn on mouse keys“.
Step 5:
Click Apply.
Step 6:
Click OK to close the window.
After going through the procedures described above, please test if the keypad is back at work! If not, restart the computer then test if the keypad begins to work.
