Sometimes you might need to send a file through the internet to your contacts or to specific group of people. This is usually done using email. However, when the file to be sent is too huge, it can exceed the file attachment size limit of most email providers.
Most email providers only allow an attachment NOT more than 25MB. If you have a file that is a little biger than 25MB, you can try to compress it using WinZip or WinRar and see if the compressed file is smaller now than the allowed attachment size, which is usually 25MB. If not, then you need to use online tools to send the file.
OPTION 1: Use wikisend.com
The workflow here is you upload the file to wikisend.com, and you will get a download linkto download the uploaded file. You can then send this link to the person whom you want to get the uploaded file through email.
Advantages:

Disadvantages:
- It only allows you to upload a file not bigger than 100MB.
- The servers are not that fast and sometimes offline.
- It has no drag and drop support for file upload
- It is not secured. Anyone who has the download link can download the file
OPTION 2: Use DropBox.com
Another good file sharing tool with a lot of different features is dropbox.com. The workflow is similar to wikisend: you upload the file and you get a download link. Just send the link to the person whom you want to get the file so he can download the file.
However, you need to create a dropbox account in order to use the free tool. If you require huge files to be hosted in your dropbox.com account, you can upgrade to a paid version to get a bigger storage space.

To use dropbox, you can download the software and use it to upload your files to your account. Or without the software, you can upload the files by logging in to your account at dropbox.com.
OPTION 3: Use yousendit.com
This is another file sharing tool that you can use to send huge files that email providers won’t allow you to send. The workflow is similar to the first two tools that I mentioned above but the only difference is that it allows you send the uploaded file right there in the yousendit.com account. The email will be sent from the email address that you specify and you will just enter the email address where you want to send the uploaded file.
